Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Interior has announced that an additional 951 displaced persons have continued to return to their homes. Therefore, there are still 35,131 displaced persons who have not yet been able to return to their homes.
According to the press release on the situation of displaced persons and the impact on Cambodian civilian areas, from 6 a.m. on March 26 to 6 a.m. on March 27, 2026, the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia reported that since the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand became effective on December 27, 2025, the Thai side has not yet fully implemented the joint statement of the meeting, especially the 3rd meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC).
The Ministry of Interior continues to record all dishonest activities of the Thai side, legal actions, and diplomacy of the Royal Government, while continuing to pay attention to resolving the impact on the population and civilian areas due to incursions, especially for displaced persons who have not yet been able to return to their homes.
In this situation, the Ministry of Interior clarified that “an additional 951 displaced persons have continued to return to their homes. Therefore, among the total displaced population of over 640,000, more than 610,000 people, or over 94%, have returned to their homes. There are still 35,131 displaced persons (18,240 women and 11,667 children) who have not yet been able to return to their homes.”
