End of March! Another 1,528 foreigners were deported from Cambodia related to various crimes

Phnom Penh: The General Department of Immigration, Ministry of Interior, announced that 1,528 illegal foreigners were deported from Cambodia after being involved in various crimes in the country.

According to the Facebook page of the General Department of Immigration, it was confirmed that at the end of March, from the 24th to the 31st of March 2026, following the recommendations of Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, Minister of the Interior, and the leadership of the Ministry of Interior, General Senior Officer Sok Vassana, Director General of Immigration, instructed the investigation department and implemented procedures to continue deporting a total of 1,528 foreigners, including 232 women, from Cambodia.

These foreigners come from 23 nationalities including: Uganda, Kenya, Nepal, China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Taiwan, Belarus, Vietnam, Indonesia, Ghana, South Africa, England, Burundi, Cameroon, Rwanda, Australia, Nigeria, Japan, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Myanmar. Among them, 327 Chinese nationals (20 women) involved in online scam cases were deported via special flights at the immigration police post at Techo International Airport. Other foreigners involved in cases of illegal border crossing, forged documents, staying without permits, extortion, use of fake documents (fake QR codes), online scams, and illegal work in Cambodia were deported through immigration police posts at Techo International Airport and Siem Reap International Airport.

Please be reminded that the deportation of these foreigners is a strict legal enforcement measure by the Royal Government of Cambodia in its efforts to clean up and eliminate technology-based crimes, ensuring safety for citizens both locally and globally without exception for the masterminds behind these crimes, as well as assisting victims who were deceived into participating in online scam activities, who are free and able to return to their home countries.
