Foreign Affairs: The BBC reported on Monday morning that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has conceded defeat after 16 years in power and congratulated the opposition on its landslide victory in parliamentary elections.
Péter Magyar, a former close ally of Orbán who has become one of his fiercest critics, won the election.
He had also promised closer ties with the EU and his victory opened the door to greater European support for Ukraine.
With more than 98 percent of the vote counted, the Magyar Tisza party won a majority in parliament. It was seen as a stunning achievement. For Hungary.
The same source wrote that there has been no official reaction from Moscow to the Hungarian election, but it is clearly bad news for Vladimir Putin.
