China confirms readiness to play constructive role in restoring peace and tranquility in the Gulf region

Beijing: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Monday that China is ready to play a more constructive role and contribute to restoring peace and tranquility in the Gulf region.

Li made the remarks during talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in Beijing.

He noted that since the conflict in Iran broke out, China has been in close contact with relevant parties and is actively committed to promoting peace and ending the war.

He hopes the UAE will continue to take effective measures. To ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, institutions and projects in the country.

Noting that China and the UAE are comprehensive strategic partners, he added that the two countries enjoy profound traditional friendship and have long supported each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests.

He added that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-UAE relations have continued to strengthen and develop, and cooperation in various fields has achieved fruitful results, bringing tangible benefits to the people of the two countries.

He added that China is willing to continue to walk together with the UAE on the path of common development, enhance communication and coordination, strengthen political mutual trust and promote relations. And the cooperation between China and the UAE will continue to reach new heights.
