Mr. Huot Hak: Tour guides play an important role in promoting tourism

Phnom Penh: Minister of Tourism Mr. Huot Hak said that tour guides have played an important role in promoting and contributing to the Cambodian tourism sector to attract more national and international tourists to come and enjoy themselves.

On the occasion of the opening of the written examination to select candidates for the 7th generation of national and regional tour guide training courses at the University of Human Resources on April 22, 2026, Mr. Huot Hak said that national tour guides and international tour guides operating in Cambodia have played an important role in promoting tourism and contributing to the Cambodian tourism sector to attract more national and international tourists to visit Cambodia to visit various resorts.

The Minister said that when foreign tourists travel to tourist resorts with tourism potential, they will be happy and confident.
The Minister of Tourism added that when international tourists return to their hometowns, they will help promote the tourism to their families and friends so that they can travel to Cambodia.

He emphasized that when international tourists do well, they will help promote Cambodia’s tourism sector to the world.

Please note that there are 75 candidates who have taken the entrance exam for the 7th generation of national tour guide training courses. Among them, there are 40 English, 13 French, 4 German, 4 Japanese, 3 Spanish, 3 Thai, 3 Chinese, 2 Russian, 1 Vietnamese, 1 Italian and 1 Korean. As for the regional level (Phnom Penh and surrounding areas), the 21st generation, the national level has 23 participants. Of these, 13 are French, 2 German, 3 Japanese and 5 Vietnamese.
