Phnom Penh: Mr. Phon Rim, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, said that the trend of using electric vehicles in Cambodia has been steadily increasing, with the registration of electric vehicles as of March reaching 16,210 units.
The spokesperson highlighted that “the total registration statistics of electric vehicles as of March 2026 are 16,210 units: motorcycles = 3,832 units, tricycles = 722 units, cars = 11,656 units.”
The spokesperson continued that in March 2026, 1,676 electric vehicles were registered at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (including 1,293 cars). This figure has been steadily increasing.
According to registration data, in January 2026, there were 488 registered electric vehicles (409 vehicles), in February 2026, there were 1,078 registered electric vehicles (889 vehicles).
