Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia said that the decision to allow the Khmer New Year celebration is indeed correct, demonstrating the resilience and vibrant activity of the Cambodian economy.
This is according to a press release on the results of the plenary meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Prime Minister Hun Sen on April 23, 2026.
On that occasion, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that “the decision of the Royal Government to allow the organization of the traditional Khmer New Year celebration is indeed correct, demonstrating the resilience and vibrant activity of the Cambodian economy.”
The King thanked all levels of authorities and all types of authorities and the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) for organizing the traditional Khmer New Year program with joy and safety for the people.
The King also thanked the soldiers who are standing on the front lines to bravely protect the integrity of the territory.
