Pursat: Mr. Chhay Rithsen, Minister of the Ministry of Rural Development, accompanied by ministry leaders, technical officials of the ministry and the provincial Rural Development Department, visited on May 20, 2026, to inspect the progress of construction work on six roads in Pursat province.

The six roads include:
Line 1: Baku Village-Phat Sre Road, a construction site for a double-decker asphalt road (DBST) and concrete pavement, with a total length of 7.61 km, a width of 7 meters, and a number of art structures, connecting from Phat Sre Village, Svay Luang Commune to Baku Village, Sre Stok Commune, Kandieng District, with 1,113 direct beneficiaries, equivalent to 3,875 people, and 4592 indirect beneficiaries, equivalent to 17,696 people. This road began construction in May 2025, and to date, 87% of the results have been achieved.

Line 2: Wat Preah That-Phum Thmey road, a construction site for a double-deck asphalt road (DBST) and concrete pavement, with a total length of 5.37 km. 7 meters wide and has several artistic structures, connecting Baku village to Thla Ampil village, Sre Stok commune, Kandieng district, with 916 direct beneficiaries, equivalent to 3,258 people, and 2,865 indirect beneficiaries, equivalent to 11,025 people. This road began construction in August 2025, and to date, 47.93% of the results have been achieved.

Line 3: P8R08 Road name: Station-Thlok-Boeung Chak is a construction site for a double-deck asphalt road (DBST) and concrete pavement, with a total length of 11 km. 7 meters wide and has a number of artistic structures, connecting from Station Village, Kandieng Commune to Boeung Chak Village, Saya Commune, Kandieng District, with 1,747 direct beneficiaries, equivalent to 6,538 people, and 2,277 indirect beneficiaries, equivalent to 8,351 people. This road began construction in August 2025, and to date, 53.48% of the road has been completed.

Line 4: Banteay Trok-Kampong Sambour Road is a construction site for a double-deck asphalt road (DBST) and concrete pavement, with a total length of 4.27 km. 8 meters wide and has a number of artistic structures, connecting from Banteay Trok village, Sre Stok commune, to Boeung Chhouk village, Kandieng commune, Kandieng district, with 842 direct beneficiaries, equivalent to 3,152 people, and 6,963 indirect beneficiaries, equivalent to 28,330 people. The road construction began in August 2025, and to date, 44.4% of the results have been achieved.
The four roads above are within the framework of the Sustainable Rural Infrastructure Support for Farmers’ Markets and Agricultural Commercialization (SAAMBAT) project of the Ministry of Rural Development, using cooperative financing between the Royal Government of Cambodia, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the European Union’s Asian Investment Fund (EU-AIF).

Line 5: Name of the road Pno-Prong House is a construction site for a double-decker asphalt road (DBST) and concrete pavement with a total length of 12.26 km and a road width of 6 meters, connecting Kraepo Rot village, Samp Preah commune, Bakan district to Damrey Sar village, Koh Chum commune, Kandyang district, with direct beneficiaries of 394 families, equivalent to 1,491 people, and indirect beneficiaries of 4,327 families, equivalent to 18,769 people. This road began construction in May 2025, and has so far achieved 46.2% of the results, and is scheduled to be completed in November 2026.
Line 6: O’Sta-Wat Veal Road is a double-decker asphalt road (DBST) and concrete road construction site with a total length of 4.99 km. The road width is 6 meters, connecting O’Sta village, Svay At commune, Pursat district, to Phsar Leu village, Lalkos commune, Pursat district, with 382 direct beneficiaries, equivalent to 1,523 people, and 2,258 indirect beneficiaries, equivalent to 9,835 people. This road began construction in May 2025, and has achieved 35.63% of the progress. Roads 5 and 6 are part of the Cambodia and Southeast Asia Disaster Management Project Phase 2 of the Ministry of Rural Development, with a cooperative loan from the World Bank (WB).
Please be informed that during the inspection of the construction sites of the above six roads, the Minister instructed the technical advisors and construction companies on site to accelerate the construction work in accordance with the work contract and to implement it properly according to technical standards so that the roads are of good quality and can serve the benefits of local people for a long time.
