Joint authorities discover 2 more warehouses in Phnom Penh related to illegal import of goods from Thailand

Phnom Penh: Ms. Daw Samphos, spokesperson for the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration, said that joint authorities found two locations related to illegally imported goods from Thailand in an operation on June 13, 2026.

The spokesperson said on June 14 This June, the
Unified Command Committee of the Phnom Penh Administration and the 14 district administrations, in cooperation with a combined force from the Phnom Penh Police Headquarters and the General Department of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, with legal coordination from the Deputy Prosecutor attached to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, inspected a total of 18 large and small warehouses in the area suspected of importing, storing, circulating, and distributing frozen products originating from Thailand.

In these 18 operations, the joint task force found 2 locations related to illegally imported goods from Thailand, including: 1. The location of the warehouse for imported goods located in Trapaing Chak Village, Prey Veng Sangkat, Dangkor District, Phnom Penh, belonging to SKSK. The joint task force found goods imported from Thailand since early February 2026, after the land border was closed. There are 61 items of these goods, including coffee, whey, and milk powder.

2. The warehouse is located at House No. 102, Street 79BT, Chamroeun Phal Village, Sangkat Boeung Tumpun 1, Khan Meanchey. The joint team inspected and found frozen meat products including: squid and duck legs imported from Thailand.

As a result of the operation on June 13 The authorities decided to temporarily close the two warehouses above and decided to bring the owners and managers of the two warehouses in Dangkor District and one warehouse in Meanchey District for further questioning at the Economic Crimes Bureau of the Phnom Penh Police Department in accordance with legal procedures.

Please note that from June 10 to 13, the authorities will Inspected large and small warehouses in Phnom Penh suspected of illegally storing, transporting, and distributing frozen products and goods imported from Thailand, totaling 107 locations, of which the joint task force decided to temporarily close 12 locations.
