Pursat: On the morning of Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Colonel Phum Phay Doeun, Deputy Commissioner of the Economic Crime Police, led the police force in cooperation with the Anti-Economic Crimes Task Force led by Mr. Ou Ma Norin, Director of the Provincial Anti-Economic Crimes Branch, Ms. Seng Huy, Deputy Mayor, as well as officials from the Provincial Department of Commerce and the Provincial Military Police, and relevant experts, inspected and disseminated information to traders at Pursat and Phu Puy markets on the impacts and disadvantages of selling expired and damaged goods, goods packaged with incorrect specifications, illegal frozen meat, and illegally imported goods.

In this joint operation, law enforcement and experts inspected stalls and business locations in the market to ensure that goods sold to citizens are of high quality, safe, and comply with applicable legal regulations.

As a result, the team found some defective and expired goods, which could pose a risk to consumer health. Experts have instructed and educated traders to pay attention to checking the expiration date, product source, and packaging standards properly before selling to customers.

On that occasion, the working group also called on all traders to sell only good quality products with clear expiration dates and proper hygiene to protect the health and safety of citizens.

At the same time, authorities and experts have urged traders and citizens to cooperate in preventing the trafficking of illegal goods and jointly support the use of quality products in accordance with applicable standards and laws to contribute to promoting food safety and protecting consumer interests.
