Battambang: The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training organized a consultation workshop to collect input on the draft National Policy on Technical and Vocational Skills Development 2026-2035 on July 6-7, 2026, under the chairmanship of Dr. Choob Thittherridh, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.
The workshop was attended by ministers, advisors, leaders of general departments and departments, deputy governors of the provincial government and vice-chairmen of the provincial training committee, the Department of Labor and Vocational Training, technical and vocational training institutions (TVET), members of the Battambang Provincial Training Committee, representatives of the private sector as partners of TVET institutions in the province, and students of the Battambang Regional Polytechnic Institute, a total of 135 people.
Speaking on this occasion, the Undersecretary of State stated that this national policy will become an important strategic document for promoting the development of technical and professional skills, aiming to contribute to promoting economic diversification, enhancing national competitiveness, creating decent jobs, and increasing people’s income. At the same time, this policy will also play an important role in supporting national socio-economic development, achieving Cambodia’s Vision 2050, implementing the Pentagon Strategy-Phase 1, the next-phase industrial development policy, the next-phase national policy on occupation and employment, and preparing for a successful exit from Least Developed Country (LDC) status.
The workshop actively discussed and provided input on the draft policy and expressed its full support for the policy formulation, which aims to build a workforce with skills, work skills and flexibility to respond to changing labor market needs in a resilient and modern manner.
