Siem Reap: The Cambodia-China Progress Research Association has received support from the China Foundation for International Cultural Exchange to implement a project to improve the library of Banteay Samre Primary School, Banteay Srei District, Siem Reap Province, in response to a request from the Banteay Srei District Administration, with the aim of improving the learning environment and promoting a reading culture for students in rural areas.

On July 7, 2026, Mr. Ngon Bunthy, Deputy Governor of Banteay Srei District, representing Mr. Rin Lot, Governor of Banteay Srei District, visited the opening of the library renovation site and highly appreciated the start of the project, which will contribute to improving the quality of education and creating a conducive environment for students to study.

Mr. Tan Bunhuy, principal of Banteay Samre Primary School, said that the library building, which has been used for many years, is in a dilapidated state and needs urgent repair. The project will replace the roof, repaint the building, repair the doors and windows, and completely renovate the walls to transform the library into a beautiful, safe, and conducive reading and study space for students.

On the occasion, Mr. Ngon Bunthy and Mr. Tan Bunhuy, on behalf of the district administration, school Teachers, students, and citizens who are beneficiaries expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Chea Monirith, President of the Cambodia-China Development Research Association, who worked hard to coordinate and mobilize resources from the China Foundation for International Cultural Exchange to implement this meaningful project.
