Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Environment has announced a remarkable achievement in distributing free saplings to the public, totaling 5.3 million trees from January 1, 2026 until now. These saplings are planted in homes, communities, and reforestation across the country to contribute to the conservation of natural resources and increase green cover for sustainable living.

In addition, the “Green Sprout” tree sapling promotion and distribution exhibition held in Phnom Penh from July 10 to 13, 2026, the Ministry of Environment distributed 1.2 million mixed tree saplings. This is the third year that the ministry has organized the event, which included the grand opening of the “Planting One Million Palm Trees” event in front of the Ministry of Environment’s office, which was attended by a large number of participants.

Dr. Eang Sophallet, Minister of Environment, said that the “Green Sprout” exhibition is not only a tree-distribution ceremony But it is a joint start as a national movement that aims to promote the participation of all citizens in the protection and restoration of natural resources.
