Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of July 14, 2026, Mr. Chhay Rithsen, Minister of Rural Development, presided over the closing ceremony of the workshop on “Sharing Experiences in Detailed Design and Quality Control of Rural Road Infrastructure Construction”.

At the beginning, His Excellency Chray Pom, Technical Director, briefly reported on the results of the workshop to the participants, stating that the workshop was organized for 1 day, with presentations on 3 main topics: 1. On “Experience in Detailed Design and Implementation”, 2. On “Quality Review of Rural Road Infrastructure Construction under the Framework of Projects Using Funds Supported by Development Partners” and 3. On “Implementation of FIDIC Contracts”, and there were questions, discussions, and sharing of good experiences on each presentation in a constructive manner. 

After listening to the report of the workshop, Mr. Chhay Riththi Sen thanked the leaders, civil servants and the entire workshop for dedicating their valuable time to participate in this important workshop until the closing ceremony. He also expressed his appreciation and high appreciation to the team who worked hard to organize the workshop as well as the speakers who spent their physical and mental energy to participate in presentations and share experiences related to the design, implementation and quality control of rural road infrastructure construction to strengthen the quality of rural infrastructure and communication development to be more efficient and quality. 

The Minister highlighted that based on the vision of the National Policy on Rural Development, which defines “building a prosperous, equitable and sustainable rural society in both economic, social and cultural aspects”, the Ministry of Rural Development continues to pay attention and give high priority to the development of quality and resilient rural infrastructure and road transport, which are indispensable prerequisites to increase connectivity and ensure the use of long-term, resilient to climate change, and promote economic, social, and cultural integration between rural and urban areas, linking various business activities to be more vibrant, which will contribute to improving the living standards of people in rural areas. 

At the same time, Minister A number of important recommendations were made to the workshop to be implemented in the construction of rural road infrastructure to ensure quality and resilience, with the aim of serving the needs of rural people effectively and contributing to the development of rural areas to become more prosperous, which is a contribution to achieving the vision of “Cambodia as a high-income country by 2050” under the wise and wise leadership of His Excellency Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
