RLP is the full name of the Khmer word for “Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)”, which refers to the recognition and validation of competences for the purpose of certification, obtained outside the formal education and training system.
According to Mr. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, the benefits of RPL are recognition of skills and the experience of former Cambodian workers who have worked in the sector in 8 specialties to help them find suitable jobs and earn good incomes.
Mr. Ban said that this program provides certificates of skills to former workers, which is also a part of helping the private sector to improve the quality of labor in the sector and support national economic development.
