Phnom Penh: The Embassy of India in the Kingdom of Cambodia and Samdech Preah Maha Sanghareach Buri Kri University (SBKU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 18 July 2026 in Phnom Penh to implement a Quick Impact Project (QIP) under the theme “Establishment of Remote Video Conferencing Room and Modernization of Electrical Engineering Laboratory at Samdech Preah Maha Sanghareach Buri Kri University”.
The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and His Excellency Venerable Vong Aneta, Rector of Samdech Preah Maha Sanghareach Buri Kri University, with the invitation and participation of monks, university representatives, members of the board of directors, professors, teachers and many students.

Recently, the Indian Embassy also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Preah Sihanouk Raja Buddhist University, Battambang to provide furniture and computer equipment for a new female student dormitory. Cambodia remains a valued partner under India’s “Act East Policy” and the “Mekong–Ganga Cooperation” framework. India implements 10 Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) annually in Cambodia in priority sectors including education, health, women empowerment, sanitation, agriculture and climate change resilience. So far, 74 QIPs have been approved, out of which 55 have been successfully completed and 19 are in the implementation phase. All these projects are aligned with the priorities set by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
