Ottar Meanchey: Mr. Tep Asnarith, Undersecretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Information, emphasized and encouraged provincial information officers to continue to focus on strengthening their capabilities and roles more actively by standing as a highly effective “official information portal” in disseminating true, clear, and timely information to the public.

This statement was made on the occasion of his invitation to lead an orientation meeting on “Information and Public Opinion Work” for civil servants of the Oddar Meanchey Provincial Information Department on July 17, 2026. The meeting was attended by Mr. Chan Sopheap, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Information in charge of the Oddar Meanchey Provincial Information Department, as well as many civil servants of the provincial information department.

On that occasion, Mr. Tep Asnarith praised the Oddar Meanchey Provincial Information Department for cooperating with local authorities to facilitate national and international journalists in carrying out their duties of collecting information and taking pictures during the Thai invasion in order to disseminate to the national and international public the true information regarding the situation and developments in the area under armed attack that occurred during the Thai military invasion.

At the same time, the spokesperson urged information officials to work harder to carry out information and public opinion work regularly and not to allow fake information to continue to be shared on social media. In this regard, it is necessary to increase highly effective cooperation with local journalists and relevant parties. This is to regularly disseminate accurate information about the efforts of the Royal Government and each provincial administration on local development as well as security and public order work.
All information content produced by the Information Department must be published on the official website of the department and shared on social media such as Facebook, Telegram, TikTok and traditional media such as radio and television to promote efficiency in information management and dissemination.

He said that the production of comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date information at the provincial level will help citizens, investors and tourists to understand various information and the potential of the province’s tourism areas more easily.
On that occasion, Mr. Chan Sopheap also highly appreciated the officials of the Oddar Meanchey Provincial Information Department who worked hard to actively work in the field of information and public opinion during the first and second waves of the Thai military invasion of Cambodia. At the same time, he instructed information officers to strengthen their ability to keep up with technology, manage public opinion work in a timely, clear and accurate manner, in order to effectively neutralize fake news, as well as contribute to maintaining social stability and supporting the national development process.

Mr. Phal Lim, Director of the Oddar Meanchey Provincial Information Department, expressed his pleasure and high determination to accept all valuable recommendations and suggestions from the leaders of the Ministry of Information to strengthen general management work as well as information and public opinion work in the province to be more active and efficient.
