Phnom Penh: Ms. Suos Sinun, Undersecretary of State, High Representative, Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, chaired the opening of a training course on “Preventing and Responding to Gender-Based Violence and Harassment in the Workplace” from July 23 to 24, 2026 at the Ministry’s Office. This training course was organized in cooperation with the implementation of the 8th Memorandum of Understanding for 2023-2027 between the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training and the Better Factories Project in Cambodia (ILO-BFC) with the aim of strengthening the understanding and capacity of officials of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training and the provincial and municipal departments of labor and vocational training on gender equality issues, preventing and responding to gender-based violence and harassment in the workplace.
On this occasion, Ms. Suos Sinun thanked the Better Factories Project in Cambodia, an organization of the ILO (ILO-BFC), for continuing to provide technical support to the organization of this important training course with the aim of enhancing the capacity of relevant officials to prevent and respond to gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH) in the workplace, enterprises, companies and factories.
She highlighted that creating a safe workplace, respecting human dignity and free from violence or harassment is fundamental to decent work and sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development. In this regard, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training continues to work closely with development partners and stakeholders to strengthen the capacity of officials, raise awareness, and promote the implementation of effective prevention and response measures to violence and harassment in the workplace.
