Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of July 27, 2026, Dr. Eang Sophallet, Minister of the Ministry of Environment, received a courtesy call on Mr. YOSHINORI OZAWA, President of the Japan Federation of Shiho-Shoshi Lawyer’s Associations, at the Ministry of Environment.

The meeting was held with the aim of continuing to strengthen and expand cooperation between the Kingdom of Cambodia and Japan, especially in the field of law related to environmental protection, conservation of natural resources, and promotion of more effective implementation of environmental laws in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.

On that occasion, the Minister warmly welcomed Mr. YOSHINORI OZAWA and the delegation and thanked Japan, which has always been an important development partner of Cambodia in supporting the environment and sustainable development.

Mr. YOSHINORI OZAWA expressed his appreciation for the leadership and efforts of the Ministry of Environment in promoting environmental protection, natural resource management, and strengthening environmental law enforcement. He also expressed his intention to continue to promote cooperation with the Ministry of Environment through the exchange of experience, knowledge, and support for capacity development in environmental law to contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development in Cambodia.
