Speaking to approximately 150 participants representing relevant ministries and state institutions, employer associations and the private sector, TVET institutions, higher education institutions, research institutions, and national and international development partners, the Minister said that the dissemination of the Cambodian Labor Market Update Report 2026, the Policy Brief on the Impact of Cambodia’s Exit from LDC Status on Employment and the Socio-Economy, and the Employment and Employment Outlook Document for the Second Half of 2026 are very important and timely, enabling policymakers and the public to understand the structure of the economy and labor market, as well as key sectors that absorb labor and predict future labor demand.
The program also helps build a quality labor market research system and can use the results as a basis for preparing policies, strategies and measures of the Royal Government. It is also a continuation of the spirit of the annual National Conference on Labor Economics to create a platform for presenting the economic situation, jobs, occupations, skill requirements and possible impacts of Cambodia’s exit from the Least Developed Country status in 2029, and wants to take a step further by collecting and disseminating labor market information.
