Phnom Penh: More than 3,000 former workers from Thailand and citizens participated, received job opportunities, and registered for technical skills training at the job, social security, and vocational training fairs held in Pailin and Battambang provinces on February 28 and March 1, 2026.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, Mr. Sun Mesa, confirmed on March 2 that the job fairs invited a total of 3,574 former workers from Thailand and citizens to seek employment and learn more about the benefits of social security schemes and opportunities to enroll in free technical and vocational training courses.

He added that on this occasion, 413 former workers from Thailand and citizens registered for training, while a total of 811 people (preliminary figures) secured jobs from 17 large companies, factories, and enterprises that came to promote job opportunities and recruit labor at the grassroots level.

The spokesperson appealed to Khmer former workers returning from Thailand and Khmer citizens who did not participate in this job fair to contact the number 1297, where Ministry of Labor officials are available to answer calls seven days a week to provide job opportunities and free technical and vocational training.

It is also reminded that up to now, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has organized a total of 597 job fairs, providing job opportunities to more than 62,000 Khmer citizens and former workers returning from Thailand.
