Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Interior has announced that an additional 757 refugees have continued to return to their homes, while there are still 46,957 refugees who have not yet been able to return to their homes.

According to the press release on the situation of refugees and the impact on Cambodian civilian areas from 6 AM on March 4 to 6 AM on March 5, 2026, since the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand became effective on December 27, 2025, the Thai side has not only failed to comply with the joint statement of the meeting, especially the 3rd meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC), but has also been engaging in actions contrary to the agreement made by His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, and His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and former ASEAN Chair.

The Ministry further stated that although neither party has used weapons against each other, the Ministry of Interior has continued to record all dishonest actions by the Thai side and remains committed to carefully resolving the impact on the population and civilian areas.

In this situation, the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia has clarified that “an additional 757 refugees have continued to return to their homes. Therefore, among the total of more than 640,000 refugees, more than 600,000, or nearly 93%, have returned to their homes. There are still 46,957 refugees (24,623 women and 15,604 children) who have not yet been able to return to their homes.”
