Oddar Meanchey: 203 houses have been handed over to refugee families who were besieged by the Thai military in Oddar Meanchey province.

Through a letter accompanied by many photos, Mr. Mean Chan Yada, Governor of Oddar Meanchey province, stated, “After persistent efforts up to now, 203 houses have been handed over to refugee families who were besieged by the Thai military.”

Under the high concern of the Royal Government of Cambodia for the welfare of the people along the major border areas, on March 7, 2026, Mr. Mean Chan Yada and his team organized a lottery ceremony to allocate houses to refugee citizens who were besieged by the Thai military in Samraong city and Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province, with many enthusiastic participants and joy.

It should be noted that to ensure fairness and transparency, the provincial administration organized a “lottery” directly by the families themselves to determine the house numbers and exact locations. Moreover, these 203 houses were constructed according to strong technical standards and include some necessary infrastructure systems to facilitate the daily living of the people.
