Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Interior has announced that there are still 46,394 displaced people (24,326 women and 15,358 children) who have not yet been able to return to their homes.
According to the press release on the situation of displaced people and the impact on civilian areas in Cambodia, from 6 AM on March 6 to 6 AM on March 7, 2026, the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia reported that since the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand became effective on December 27, 2025, the Thai side has not only failed to comply with the joint declaration of the meeting, especially the 3rd meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC), but has also been engaging in actions contrary to the agreements made by former ASEAN Chairman and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and former U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Ministry further stated that although neither party has used weapons against each other, the Ministry of Interior continues to record all dishonest actions by the Thai side and remains highly attentive to resolving the impacts on civilians and civilian areas.
In this situation, the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia clarified that “an additional 332 displaced people have returned to their homes. Therefore, out of more than 640,000 displaced people, over 600,000, or nearly 93%, have returned to their homes. There are still 46,394 displaced people (24,326 women and 15,358 children) who have not yet been able to return to their homes.”
