Foreign Affairs: Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, in a post on X and Twitter early Saturday morning accused US President Donald Trump of making numerous false claims regarding the status of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s enriched uranium.
According to The Jerusalem Post published on April 18, 2026, Ghalibaf wrote, “The US president made seven claims in one hour, all seven of which were false.” “They did not win the war with these lies, and they certainly did not get good results in the negotiations.”
Ghalibaf urged everyone to “read the true and accurate information about the negotiations in the recent interview of the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman,” in which the spokesman claimed that Iran would not transfer its enriched uranium anywhere, contrary to Trump’s previous assertion that Iran had agreed to do so.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said in an interview with Iranian state media that Iran’s enriched uranium would not be transferred anywhere, and transferring uranium to the United States was not an option for us.”
