On April 15, in Ashgabat, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang held talks with Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov, leader of the Turkmen people and chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan.
Ding Xuexiang said that under the strategic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Berdymukhammedov, China-Turkmenistan relations have achieved rapid and stable development. Natural gas cooperation is a model of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation in China-Turkmenistan relations, which have developed smoothly and achieved many achievements in recent years.
The two sides should pay more attention to natural gas cooperation from a strategic perspective and long-term benefits, accelerate the construction of key projects, and continue to expand the scale of cooperation to further improve the efficiency and quality of energy cooperation. At the same time, cooperation in solar energy, wind power, electric vehicles, and artificial intelligence should be enhanced.
In response, Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov said that my visit to China in March yielded tangible results and left behind good memories. The Turkmen side respects the one-China principle and is willing to enhance strategic development linkages with the Chinese side to actively expand the scope of energy cooperation. The Turkmen side is also willing to work with the Chinese side to safeguard regional prosperity progress and world peace and stability.
