Phnom Penh: A group of former classmates from the Bak Touk School, led by Lieutenant General Rath Sreang, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Military Police and Commander of the Phnom Penh Royal Cambodian Military Police, along with former teachers at the Bak Touk School, on April 20, 2026, went to visit Mr. Prom Noravut, a former classmate from the Bak Touk School who had been suffering from chronic diabetes for many years. Recently, due to a foot ulcer, the doctors at the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital, Preah Kosom, decided to amputate his right leg, which was amputated, on April 16, 2026.
Apparently, seeing Mr. Prom Noravut, a classmate, become seriously ill and have a leg amputated, the classmates as well as the former teachers each donated their own funds according to their ability, totaling 13,200,000 riels, equivalent to $3,300, 12 boxes of mixed drinks, 2 boxes of noodles, and 2 large packets of coffee were brought to Mr. Prom Noravut to help ease the medical burden on his family.
In the past, it has been observed that a group of former classmates from the Bak Touk School, initiated by Lieutenant General Rath Sreang, has always shown close communication and shared resources to help the suffering. Former teachers have never been absent, and have helped friends who are facing difficulties and lack all opportunities. The act of caring and sharing resources to help these former teachers and friends in need is a sentiment and principle in the group, in line with the slogan they jointly created: “Solidarity, Friendship, Creating a Heart of Compassion, Sharing, Helping Each Other in Times of Difficulty.”
