Phnom Penh: Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Defense Minister Dong Jun of the People’s Republic of China arrived at Techo International Airport in Kandal Province on the afternoon of April 22, 2026 to attend the first meeting of the “2+2” strategic dialogue between the foreign ministers and defense ministers of Cambodia and China.
It is recalled that Cambodia and China agreed to establish this dialogue during the state visit to Cambodia of President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China in April last year with the aim of promoting high-level strategic relations, deepening political and security trust and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
This new mechanism is an important platform for exchanging views on regional and international issues for the common good.
During their stay in Phnom Penh, the two high-ranking officials will also pay separate courtesy calls to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State and President of the Senate, and Samdech Maha Prasad Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
