Phnom Penh: Cambodian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Khuon Phonrattanak, has asked the head of the Korean Foreign Workers Protection Center to help continue to protect and promote the rights of Cambodian workers working in South Korea.

During a meeting and discussion with Mr. Kim Woo Young, Director of the Foreign Workers Support Center in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do Province, Republic of Korea, on April 23, 2026, Mr. Khuon Phonrattanak thanked the Director of the Center for always helping to solve the challenges of Cambodian workers and the Cambodian community in Pyeongtaek in the past.

At the same time, the Ambassador also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the embassy and the protection center, as well as relevant Korean authorities, in protecting and promoting the rights, well-being, and safety of Cambodian workers and the entire community living and working in Korea.

In response, Mr. Kim expressed his pleasure at having his first working meeting with His Excellency Khuon Phon Rattanak in person and promised to continue to facilitate and provide protection to Cambodian workers.

During the meeting, the two sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Cambodian embassies and the center in the future, focusing on mutual information exchange, organizing cultural programs, providing free health check-ups for Cambodian workers, providing public services and mobile labor counseling of the embassy, and promoting Korea’s new labor laws, as well as continuing to coordinate and solve the challenges of Cambodian workers more effectively and in a timely manner.
