Phnom Penh: Through a press release, Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia, informed the public that on the morning of April 23, 2026, the 4th Military Region, Cambodian side, and the 2nd Military Region, Thailand side, held an informal meeting of the Secretariat of the Cambodia-Thai Military Region Border Committee (RBC) at the Choam-Sangam International Gate, Anlong Veng District, Oddar Meanchey Province.

The Cambodian delegation was led by Brigadier General Nit Narong, Chairman of the Cambodian Secretariat (RBC), and the Thai delegation was led by Brigadier General Kamphaknak Waphansu, Chairman of the Thai Secretariat (RBC).

During the informal meeting, the two sides discussed continuing to promote the full and effective implementation of the full contents of the Joint Declaration of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thai General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, including the operational coordination and informal grassroots problem-solving work of the Secretariat Group of the Cambodia-Thai Regional Border Committee (RBC) between the Cambodian Military Region 4 and the Thai Military Region 2.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia reiterates its firm commitment to fully and consistently respect and implement the Joint Declaration of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thai General Boundary Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, the Joint Statement on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on October 26, 2025, and other relevant agreements, aiming to find a peaceful, just and lasting solution in accordance with international law as well as existing treaties and agreements between the two countries.
