Phnom Penh: Government Spokesperson Pen Bona said that at the first meeting of the 2+2 Strategic Dialogue between Cambodia and China, the two sides agreed to further deepen practical cooperation for the future.
In a statement on the Cambodia-Thailand border situation on April 24, 2026, Pen Bona said that the agreement to further deepen practical cooperation between Cambodia and China in the 2+2 Strategic Dialogue includes both traditional and new potential areas, including: digital transformation, green development, blue economy, resilient supply chain connectivity, financial cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.
He said, “The two sides reaffirmed their joint commitment to “To further promote the Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic partnership, which not only contributes to the prosperity of the two countries, but also to regional and global peace, stability and development.”
The spokesperson added that the two sides also reaffirmed the strong “iron friendship” between Cambodia and China based on mutual respect, trust and unwavering support for each other’s core interests.
