Phnom Penh: Dr. Ly Thuj, Senior Minister and First Deputy Chairman of the Cambodia Mine Action Authority, has requested the China Foundation for Peace and Development to consider supporting people with disabilities and vulnerable communities affected by mines and explosive remnants of war in Cambodia.
Dr. Ly Thuj made this request on the occasion of allowing Ms. Wang Yahui, Director of the China Foundation for Peace and Development, and her colleagues to pay a courtesy call and discuss work on April 24, 2026 at the headquarters of the Cambodia Mine Action Authority.
During the meeting, Ms. Wang Yahui requested the Cambodia Mine Action Authority to provide support, partnership, and cooperation in the Foundation’s contribution to humanitarian activities in Cambodia.
Ms. Wang Yahui highlighted the activities of the China Foundation for Peace and Development, which was established in 2011 in Beijing, China, focusing on humanitarian work and partnering with many civil society organizations to support humanitarian activities in countries in the region. The China Foundation for Peace and Development was established in Cambodia in 2019 and has been helping poor and vulnerable communities in Cambodia.
Senior Minister Li Du expressed his welcome for the presence of the China Foundation for Peace and Development in Cambodia and praised the foundation’s humanitarian activities. Meanwhile, Senior Minister Li Thuc requested the China Foundation for Peace and Development to consider supporting people with disabilities and vulnerable communities affected by mines and explosive remnants of war in Cambodia.
Both sides, the Cambodian Mine Action Authority and the CFPD Foundation, committed to cooperating and providing mutual partnership in joint humanitarian activities and improving the living conditions of the people in harmony.
