Phnom Penh: A man who caused shock and was heavily criticized by social media users for using abusive language and gestures that threatened to use violence against foreigners was found by the police and brought in for education last night.
On the night of April 24, 2026, the police found the provocative man at the Russey Keo Garden. He was immediately sent to the Daun Penh District Police Station for questioning and educational procedures.
Through inspection and questioning, the authorities confirmed the man’s identity and background as follows:
– Occupation: A scavenger.
– Living situation: A homeless person with no real place to live, sleeping in temples and public spaces.
The arrest was made after a video was shared showing the man using abusive language and intending to attack a foreigner. This action is perceived by the public as an inappropriate act that affects public order and the dignity of the nation.
The man is currently under the control of the Daun Penh District authorities to sign a contract to stop the activity and receive education to live an orderly life again.
