Phnom Penh: The public has raised the question of what would happen if ordinary citizens were to vape or use threatening language against officials?

The traffic accident between a police car and a civilian car in Chbar Ampov District was resolved by mutual consent, but what the public still cannot accept and is waiting to see the discipline of the force is the behavior of the senior police officer.
The public still does not forget the words that Mr. Khieu Songchansothea used at the scene, threatening to “beat him up” and “send him to prison.”
As a law enforcement officer, the position of deputy director of the department, the use of “rude” words and “Crooked” towards citizens in traffic disputes is a manifestation of this person’s low morals and legal understanding.
The point that cannot be ignored is the image of Mr. Khieu Songchansothea standing at the scene of the incident, smoking an electronic cigarette (Vape). This is not a personal matter, but a blatant violation of the government’s orders:
Don’t you know that e-cigarettes are prohibited goods?
Do you smoke to show off your power or to show that you are above the law?
While police officers across the country are cracking down on vaping, these five high-ranking officers are smoking to show off to lower-ranking officers. This act is a denigration of the National Police and a burning of public trust.

The end of a civil case (compensation) is the end of a case between individuals. But using “obscene language” and smoking “electronic cigarettes” are violations of discipline and administrative law that the Ministry of Interior should not ignore.
The public hopes that the force will strictly enforce discipline so that other officers will not imitate the behavior of abusing power and disregarding the law.
