Phnom Penh: On the morning of April 4, 2026, Mr. Chhay Rithsen, Minister of Rural Development, Mr. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Mr. Tho Jetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, were invited to co-chair the 6th Ministerial “Tri-Sector” Inter-Ministerial Meeting on coordinating the implementation of policy programs and activities related to modern agricultural communities, water-using farmers’ communities, and model villages.

The 6th Ministerial Fisheries and Aquaculture Meeting was coordinated and organized at the Ministry of Rural Development, with the participation of leaders of the three ministries, leaders of ministries, institutions, specialized departments of the target provinces, and relevant development partner organizations. Two main objectives were set for this meeting, including: 1. Reviewing the progress and achievements of fisheries and aquaculture work in all target communities selected for intervention after the 5th Ministerial Fisheries and Aquaculture Meeting and setting the direction for further work in selecting additional communities; and 2. Review the progress and working conditions of the preparation of the “Strategy and Implementation Plan for the Integrated Development of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development in Cambodia (2027-2031)”.

It should also be noted that in order to participate in the success of the first phase of the Pentagon Strategy of the Royal Government, the 7th term of the National Assembly and the vision of the Royal Government, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, and the Ministry of Rural Development have collaborated as a joint force under the “One-Stakeholder System” approach by forming a working group on fisheries, agriculture, water, and rural areas to coordinate the implementation of policy programs and rural development activities related to modern agricultural communities, water-using farming communities, and model villages. The Fisheries Sector Working Group is an inter-ministerial coordination mechanism to respond to the needs of direct development in rural areas to promote and improve livelihoods and build the resilience of people in modern agricultural communities, water-using farming communities and model villages to be effective, efficient and sustainable.
