Banteay Meanchey: On May 4, 2026, His Excellency Um Ratay, Governor of Banteay Meanchey Province, led forces to help demolish and repair more than 50 houses damaged by strong winds in Serey Sophon town on the evening of May 3, 2026.
Mr. Um Ratay also advised citizens to be more careful about natural phenomena that often occur, such as strong winds, lightning strikes, etc., which can damage property, houses, and lives of citizens.
The provincial governor also called on citizens and local authorities to plant as many trees as possible to avoid natural disasters.
It should be noted that on May 3, 2026, there was a mix of rain and strong winds that affected the homes of residents in Makak Sangkat, causing the roofs of 53 houses to open. In addition, the provincial governor also donated zinc to repair more than 700 houses.
