Phnom Penh: At 03:07 on May 10, 2026, the Phnom Penh Military Police received a verbal complaint from citizens via the emergency hotline 1291 to request intervention in the case of a gang of young people parking their motorbikes on public roads.

After receiving the above complaint The Phnom Penh Military Police in Dangkor District cracked down on a gang of young people who often hang out on motorbikes at a 60-meter road in Chek Village, Choeung Sangkat, Dangkor District, Phnom Penh. They immediately arrested two young people and took them to undergo education. They signed a contract to stop all gang activities that affect their studies, destroy property and family honor, and cause fear to those around them, causing anarchy in society. They also confiscated one motorbike and kept it for 3 months at the Phnom Penh Military Police Headquarters.

According to the strict order of His Majesty the King, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, who has previously spoken about gangs, all measures must be implemented in the strictest manner, both administrative and legal. In particular, gangs who hang out on public roads must have their motorcycles confiscated for three months for the first offense and six months if they do not behave properly for the second offense.
