Kampong Thom: On the morning of May 15, 2026, upon the instructions of His Excellency Kemroth Viseth, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Civil Society Alliance Forum, Mr. Chea Monirith, Director of the Planning and Projects Department, inspected the progress of the construction of a brick fence with a total length of 130 meters and a height of 2 meters at the Kirivan Community Kindergarten, Ka Koh Commune, Santuk District, Kampong Thom Province.

Ms. Keo Vanna, the principal of the kindergarten, highlighted that in the context of Cambodia’s focus on human resource development, early childhood education is considered an important foundation for building a quality and sustainable society. In this sense, the generous gift of His Excellency Kemroth Viseth, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Civil Society Alliance Forum, in supporting the development of the Kiriwan Community Kindergarten by helping to build a fence around the kindergarten is not only an ordinary act of charity, but also an expression of His Excellency’s vision for grassroots development.

Expressing high appreciation for this valuable project, Mr. Chap Ty, the head of Kiriwan Village, said that the construction of a fence around the kindergarten may seem like a small piece of infrastructure, but it has great significance for the safety and learning environment of children. The school fence is a part that helps protect children from various dangers such as pets, vehicles, or external risks, and also helps create an orderly, clean, and safe environment for children to grow.

Mr. Chap Thin, the head of Ka Koh commune, said with joy that from a commune development perspective, this activity demonstrated the important role of civil society in complementing the work of the Ka Koh commune administration. He added that the Civil Society Alliance Forum not only provides construction assistance, but also helps create a culture of “joining hands” between communities, authorities, and the Civil Society Alliance Forum.

Mr. Chea Monirith said that the support of the Civil Society Alliance Forum truly reflects the contribution of civil society to the human resource development policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia. In the process of building human capital for the future.
He added that the activities in the Kiriwan village community are also a good example for other communities when civil society, authorities and citizens can work together to solve small problems at the grassroots level, then development will no longer be something far from the people, but rather a development that comes from the participation and ownership of the community itself.

Overall, the continued support of the Civil Society Alliance Forum in building a fence around the Kiriwan Community Kindergarten is a small action with a big meaning. It shows that sustainable development does not start with big projects, but starts with caring about the safety and future of young children at the local level.
