Phnom Penh: The Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia has noted that in recent times, there have been a number of Facebook pages, including some foreign Facebook pages, with Khmer names and pretending to be Cambodians, spreading information related to the situation along the border by exaggerating and distorting the truth.
Those foreign Facebook pages also quoted from unfounded sources, which have led to the impact of security and order and caused chaos for the purpose of fraud, attracting views, likes, shares and for personal gain.
In this regard, the Ministry of National Defense calls on all citizens to accept only information from clear, accurate, verifiable and reliable sources, especially information provided by the Royal Government, the official pages of leaders, ministries and some related organizations.
In particular, regarding information about the situation along the border and the national defense sector, the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense will provide clear and verifiable information to the public.
Anyone who commits fraud, spreads false information, or intentionally causes chaos that affects national security will be subject to legal action.
