Preah Vihear provincial park rangers crack down on two suspects and seize luxury timber and manufactured weapons in forestry crimes

Preah Vihear Province: The campaign to prevent and suppress natural resource crimes in Preah Vihear Province continues to be carried out vigorously. In fact, from May 12 to 16, 2026, the relevant park rangers launched a thorough patrol operation and arrested 02 suspects in the crime of illegal timber transportation.

This large-scale operation was carried out with the participation of a total of 7 park rangers from the Phnom Konkhu Sub-district Office Field headquarters and sub-headquarters.

The joint force patrolled deep into the forest area of the Phekan Sen Chey community. Upon reaching the forest area with the registration number (541050-1514296) in Pheakron village, Reap Roe commune, Rovieng district, Preah Vihear province, the specialized forces immediately confronted and intercepted the two suspects while they were in action.

In this operation The officers seized evidence, including:
2 scissor lifts, 1 Avanser forklift truck, and 1 gas-powered weapon.
According to law enforcement sources on the scene, both the suspects and all seized evidence were temporarily sent to the police station for questioning, case preparation, and legal proceedings.

This ongoing crackdown demonstrates the strong commitment of authorities and environmental protection officials to protecting the forest cover and natural resources that are valuable assets in the protected areas of Preah Vihear province.
