Phnom Penh: On the morning of May 19, 2026, at the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, a meeting was held to promote the Standard Operating Procedures for Inter-Ministerial Inspections in the Tourism Industry, chaired by Mr. Som Chamnan, Secretary of State, High Representative of Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training and Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Inspection Task Force, and attended by leaders and inspection officers from the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Environment.

The information meeting is a preparation for the inter-ministerial inspection of the tourism industry, which will begin in June 2026, targeting tourism service business locations based in Phnom Penh.
Mr. Som Chamnan stated that the inter-ministerial inspection mechanism is part of the Royal Government’s radical administrative reform aimed at promoting better conditions for doing business in Cambodia, reducing disruptions to business owners, and increasing work efficiency. Therefore, this inspection is aimed at helping enterprises and companies operating in the tourism industry to increase their level of compliance with the law and to increase their respect for hygiene and environmental standards in their tourism services, which are essential conditions for the development of the tourism sector.
