Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of May 22, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, Minister of the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the National Committee for Democratic Development at the Sub-National Level (NCDDL), presided over the closing ceremony of the workshop to promote and implement the 5-year implementation plan, phase 2 (2026-2030) of the National Program for Democratic Development at the Sub-National Level, Phase 2, at the S Building of the Ministry of Interior.

Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha praised and highly valued the efforts of the members of the National Election Commission. In participating in leading, coordinating the preparation and implementation of the decentralization and decentralization reform program to progress through each stage and achieve many notable achievements.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister also thanked and highly appreciated the leaders, civil servants of ministries, institutions and sub-national administrations, development partners, civil society organizations, and the private sector. and the public who have supported the implementation of the decentralization and decentralization reform program from the initial stage to the present to achieve continuous success.

The Deputy Prime Minister continued that the achievements of the decentralization and decentralization reforms that have been established over the past 20 years could not have been achieved smoothly if the Royal Government had not demonstrated strong and clear political will. And if there is no active participation and support from leaders, technical officials of ministries, institutions, sub-national administrations, development partners, civil society organizations, the private sector and the public.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that decentralization and decentralization reforms are governance reforms that are deeply important in the daily lives of local people, among the key reforms Which has been considered the core of the Quadrilateral Strategy for the past 4 terms and will continue to be the core of the Pentagon Strategy, Phase 1 of the Royal Government, 7th term of the National Assembly.
