Health Minister visits workers involved in traffic accident

Phnom Penh: Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, visited female workers injured in a traffic accident who are receiving treatment at Calmette Hospital and Techo Santepheap National Hospital after a traffic accident in Kampong Chhnang province on May 23, 2026.

On that occasion, Professor Chheang Ra instructed hospital leaders, doctors, and all health workers to continue to pay the utmost attention to providing efficient, quality, safe, and equitable examination, care, and treatment services to victims in accordance with the policies of the Ministry of Health and the Royal Government.

At the same time The Minister expressed his condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims who lost their lives and wished the patients who are currently receiving treatment a speedy recovery so that they can return to their families.

The Minister called on all passengers to respect traffic laws and avoid traffic accidents to protect their own lives as well as those of others. .

Please note that at 6:10 a.m. on May 23, 2026, a traffic accident occurred between four vehicles in front of School No. 5 Primary School, National Road No. 5, in the eastern lane, between kilometers 52-53, School No. 5 Village O’Russey commune, Kampong Tralach district, Kampong Chhnang province, resulting in 9 deaths, 9 serious injuries, and 35 minor injuries. Similarly, in Svay Rieng province, there were 5 deaths, 6 serious injuries, and 29 minor injuries, which occurred due to traffic accidents between trucks transporting workers and trucks transporting workers.
