Kandal: Dr. Kao Thach, the Royal Government Delegate in charge of the Rural and Agricultural Development Bank and the President of the Techo Farmers Network Association, and Mr. Khon Serey Ratha, Deputy Governor of Kandal Province, on May 25, 2026, invited to meet and greet farmers in Takhmao City, Kandal Province.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Lay Samrith, Deputy Governor of Takhmao City, members of the district council, the mayors, village heads of all villages, and a total of 221 farmers.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Kao Thach assured farmers in Takhmao City, Kandal Province, that today’s meeting, as the Director General of the Rural and Agricultural Development Bank and the President of the Techo Farmers’ Network Association, where both roles go hand in hand, is especially aimed at improving the lives of our farmers and promoting the Techo Farmers’ Network Association to farmers on agriculture, marketing, and rural development.

Dr. Kao Thach reminded the farmers that agricultural work is everywhere, whether in Takhmao or elsewhere. This agriculture has been left over from the Angkor era. Agriculture at that time was not only used to supply the army, but also was the backbone of the national economy. In other words, our farmers have made great progress in both education and science.

Furthermore, the delegate said that if a country lacks agriculture, food security will also occur because food is a basic human need. Obviously, farmers in Takhmao City, Kandal Province, must continue to do all kinds of farming, such as growing vegetables, raising animals, and processing, focusing on techniques and marketing.

In addition, Dr. added, “Because modern agriculture is different from 500 years ago, when farmers used plows to plow rice fields, but modern agriculture Using modern agricultural machinery and using chemical fertilizers to get more yield, we have now reached the point of using natural fertilizers instead of chemical fertilizers.

On that occasion, the delegation told the farmers that farming has not gone far, but still remains with us because Cambodians have a long history of agriculture since the rice era. If you want to farm without falling into the debt trap, you must know how to calculate the cost of production per unit. Otherwise, you will cry out that you are losing money every year. So this is an opportunity for us to find a solution. Turn to studying local natural fertilizer production, especially learning on YouTube how to produce natural fertilizer to reduce production costs.

Obviously The Techo Farmers Network Association will act as an umbrella for farmers, collectively participating in protecting the rights and legality of farmers or protecting them from abuses and profits, and (2) the association will act as a bridge for others to walk or connect to other opportunities, such as opportunities to obtain technical and market information, especially as a bridge to connect the voices of farmers to competent institutions or national and international communities, which must not leave the voice of any farmer behind.
