Kep Provincial Administration vows to clean up and eliminate online scams from the province

Kep: The Unified Command of Kep Provincial Administration has vowed to clean up and eliminate Scam Online from the province to enhance the honor of the province and the nation.

Through the social networking site Facebook on the afternoon of May 25, 2026, Mr. Som Piseth, Governor of Kep Province, said that according to the Law on Combating Fraud through Technology Systems and Sub-Decree No. 3 of the Royal Government of Cambodia on Managing Security and Safety in Residential Areas, he informed all owners of rental accommodations in Kep Province that any international guests without proper documents will be fined 4 million riels ($1,000) per person or more depending on the circumstances of the offense.

The Governor continued that if it is found that there is cooperation or opening the location to activities Scam Online, the owner of the site will be subject to more severe legal penalties, without exception.

The Governor emphasized that “the Kep Provincial Administration Unified Command has firmly committed and pledged to the Prime Minister to clean up and eliminate Scam Online from the province’s geography to enhance the honor of the province and the nation.”

In addition, the Governor also called on all citizens and business owners not to be involved, not to be behind, not to intervene in all forms of crime and to join together to keep Kep province digitally safe and free of Scam Online to contribute to the government in developing the country and the national economy more strongly.
