Phnom Penh: Dr. Eang Sophallet, Minister of Environment and Chairman of the Tbong Khmum Provincial Working Group, called for continued cooperation in protecting peace and trust in the leadership of the Royal Government as an important driving force in promoting peace, stability and sustainable national development.

The call of Minister Eang Sophallet on the occasion of presiding over the 77th anniversary of International Children’s Day on June 1st under the theme “Peace is the foundation of respect and protection of children’s rights” and the 25th anniversary of the World Day Against Child Labor on June 12th under the theme “Commitment to eliminate the worst forms of child labor in all production chains to build resilience and decent work” and Cambodian Children’s Day 2026 at Hun Sen Koeng Kang Primary School in Koeng Kang Commune, Ponhea Krek District, Tbong Khmum Province on June 1, 2026.

Dr. Eang Sophallet delivered a message from His Excellency Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, emphasizing the protection of children’s rights, the elimination of child labor, and the building of human capital under the shadow of peace. He spoke on the protection and respect of children’s rights, recalling the attention of the Royal Government of Cambodia to solving children’s challenges, such as eliminating discrimination, abuse and exploitation of child labor.

The Minister added that the peace that Cambodia has achieved from the win-win policy Led and launched by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and former Prime Minister of Cambodia, as a foundation for promoting the rights and protection of all children in full. The Royal Government of Cambodia, led by His Excellency Mr. Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has launched the first phase of the Five-Point Strategy, which sets out the National Development Strategy, the policy framework, the political program and the national action plan of the Royal Government to ensure the best interests of all children.

He called for continuing to work together to protect peace And trust in the leadership of the Royal Government is a key driving force in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable national development. Solidarity and unity will help the nation achieve major goals, especially building human capital and protecting the future of Cambodian children.

In celebrating International Children’s Day on June 1 this year, the Minister emphasized the connection between children’s rights and environmental protection and human resource development. He encouraged the students by distributing study materials such as books, pens, backpacks, pen bags, water bottles, rulers, erasers, pens, drills and pencils, along with providing sports equipment including 1 set of football tables, 1 set of ping pong tables, 6 footballs, balls and 3 pumps.
