Phnom Penh: Cambodian youth studying engineering at the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC) have unveiled an impressive new work by creating an Air Quality Monitoring Device that can help monitor the atmosphere and alert people about risks that could affect human health and the environment.

Young man Khat Sunsamnang, studying electronics, said that through this machine, after scanning the QR Code, users can see air quality data directly on their mobile phones. The young man stated that the device was designed, manufactured, and developed in-house in both hardware and software, including a web interface for displaying data.
He added that the device is capable of measuring many important data such as PM10 particulate matter levels, carbon dioxide (CO₂), temperature, humidity, and other parameters. This data can be displayed instantly on a mobile phone or computer through an online system that the students developed themselves.

For Mr. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor And professional training said that this device can help monitor weather conditions and provide alerts when air quality or temperature reaches dangerous levels. In addition, this device can be widely used in factories, enterprises, public institutions or other locations that need to monitor air quality.

He stated: “This work It is evidence of the ability of Cambodian youth to create and develop technology on their own, without having to rely entirely on foreign technology. The achievements of the NPIC students, most of whom are in their 20s, demonstrate that technical and vocational training is contributing to the creation of human resources capable of responding to the needs of modern technology and industrial development in Cambodia.”
According to Sun Mesa, the creation of the Air Quality Monitoring Device is not only a technical achievement, but also a source of pride that shows that Cambodian youth can research, innovate, and create technological solutions to serve society and national development, just like advanced countries.
