Pursat Province: On Saturday, July 11, 2026, Mr. Hay Thura, Director of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Pursat Province, and his colleagues were invited to attend a promotional meeting on the implementation of the Economically Effective Livelihoods Improvement Project to Reduce Vulnerability and Strengthen Resilience (EMPOWER) at the Bagan District School, Pursat Province, under the chairmanship of Mr. Ty Norin, Permanent Secretary of State, Ministry of Mines and Energy and Head of the Royal Government Working Group to Assist Bagan District, Ms. Van Sen Pisey, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

The meeting was attended by the working group, the governor of the Bagan District Government and colleagues, as well as commune and village authorities, commune agricultural officials, and nearly 1,000 citizens to prepare for the implementation of the project in the target areas of Bagan District. During this meeting, the project’s brochures were distributed to poor people from three communes: Khnar Toeng, Trapeang Chong, and Smaeng Preah. The project will support poor people in two production activities: growing vegetables in net houses and raising chickens.
