Phnom Penh: Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will lead a delegation to attend the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings, which will be held from 18 to 23 July 2026 in Manila, Republic of the Philippines, at the invitation of Ms. Mother Teresa P. Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia on 17 July, the meeting, under the theme “Moving towards a Shared Future”, will provide an important platform to discuss and follow up on the outcomes of the 48th ASEAN Summit. The meeting will also provide an opportunity for ASEAN and external partners to exchange views on regional and international developments in the context of an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape.
Following the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and related meetings, the Deputy Prime Minister will attend activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).
The event marks the fifth anniversary of the Treaty, which has served as a foundation for regional peace, stability and rules-based cooperation, reaffirming ASEAN’s long-standing principles in an evolving regional and global context. The Deputy Prime Minister will also attend other meetings under the Mekong Framework and the 5th Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for the Development of Palestine.
On the occasion of the above meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister will also have bilateral meetings with counterparts to promote and further deepen bilateral relations and cooperation.
