KHARTOUM: Sudan has rejected new US sanctions imposed on the country, describing the measures as “unilateral and illegal and based on false allegations.” The United States on Friday announced a second round of sanctions after determining that the Sudanese army had used chemical weapons and that Sudan had not met the conditions required to lift the measures.
In a press statement, Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said the government had previously denied the allegations and stressed that it did not produce, possess or use chemical weapons.
